SS 310 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy specifically designed for use in environments requiring resistance to high temperatures and corrosion. These sheets and plates are not only resistant to oxidation at temperatures up to 1100 °C but also perform well under cyclic conditions. The addition of nickel and chromium enhances the alloy’s resistance to sulfidation and moderate carburizing atmospheres.

SS 310 alloy is commonly used in nitriding, oxidizing, cementing, and cycling applications. It also offers excellent toughness at cryogenic temperatures and low magnetic permeability. When exposed to sigma-phase precipitation, the sheets and plates are heated in the 650–950 °C range. The material maintains its toughness even at temperatures up to 1100–1500 °C.
