321H Stainless Steel Round Bar

When 316Ti steel cold-finished bars are used to alloy metals, better properties can be produced, such as their increased tensile strength and heat-resistant behavior. The alloy is resistant to halide substances, particularly those containing chlorine and bromine. It is referred to as a marine-grade alloy. Chlorine compounds can be found in stream water sources rather often. They are useful for ships or parts used in marine engineering, like the JIS SUS 316Ti black bar.

The alloy for stainless steel 316Ti bright bar is appropriate for applications involving welding processes, much like grade 316L. Titanium and carbon react during welding, resulting in the formation of titanium carbides rather than carbide precipitates on the surface of the AISI 316Ti threaded bar. Titanium carbide is far more stable than carbide precipitates. Additionally resistant to sensitization at the grain boundary is the DIN 1.4571 square bar. As a result, the alloy’s intergranular corrosion rate decreases. The improved resistance to oxidation of the ASTM A479 UNS S31635 hex bar is another noteworthy feature.

Furthermore, the 316Ti stainless steel round bar has a substantially lower rate of scaling as compared to other 316 alloys.  Since this stainless steel, like the majority of 316 variations, has superior qualities to grade 304, the standard for corrosion resistance in the 316Ti stainless steel welding rod is significantly greater, and the price also goes up. Yet, the ASTM A276 type 316Ti flat bar costs more than 316L due to the titanium content in its alloy. Although titanium’s benefits as an alloyant justify its high cost, its addition raises the alloy’s overall cost, sometimes making the purchase decision challenging for the consumer. Therefore, if the consumer values attributes like weldability and usage at higher temperatures, they may decide to go with 316Ti stainless steel rods.
