The Super Duplex Steel UNS S32760 alloy contains components such as chromium, nickel, and molybdenum, as well as nitrogen, tungsten and copper. This makes it a highly alloyed supersteel. This alloy has a high PREN, which makes it suitable in harsh situations. Its ferritic austenitic microstructure is also responsible for these properties. It contains around 40 to 50 percent ferrite, making it useful in the annealed condition. Ferritic grades provide strong strength, while austenitic grades provide corrosion resistance. This makes it a popular material for use in stress cracking, which can develop as a result of the chlorine found in practical solutions.
