The nickel, iron, and chromium alloy used to make Incoloy 800 Pipe may be able to maintain its austenitic microstructure at extreme temperatures. These pipes are annealed for 15 minutes at 1800°F in accordance with ASTM B407 specifications. After it has been annealed, the Alloy 800 Seamless Pipe is cooled in the air.

Compared to other alloys, this one resists carburization better. This occurrence occurs in industries that deal with processing when steel comes into contact with gas mixtures that contain carbon monoxide or hydrocarbons. Carburization results in the growth of carbides on the pipe’s surface and the depletion of chromium in the matrix, which makes many regular steel grades weaker and less resistant to oxidation and sulfidation.

Under such severe stress, conventional steel pipes will inevitably fracture. Nevertheless, Inconel 800 pipe manufacturers in India recommend utilizing these pipes due to their high resistance to carburizing conditions. Welded pipe Incoloy 800 is less costly than seamless pipe but somewhat weaker than seamless pipe.

To find any substantial discontinuities, such as a transverse tangential notch or drilled hole, on the ASME SB 407 UNS N08800, hydrostatic or nondestructive eddy-current tests must be run. These tests can also be used to calculate the permissible fiber stress on the ASTM B407 UNS N08800. The mechanical properties of Werkstoff number 1.4876 Pipe, including its elongation, grain size, yield, and tensile strength, must match the requirements.
