It is a super duplex stainless steel with a 50-50 austenitic/ferritic microstructure. This grade is characterized by good mechanical stability and ductility. It exhibits high corrosion resistance in a variety of situations. This grade is available in an annealed state with a higher yield strength. Heat treatment activities cannot harden this grade; however, cold working operations can produce a robust design. It was given with a pitting resistance equivalent greater than 40, indicating increased resistance to pitting corrosion. Furthermore, it is highly resistant to stress corrosion and crevice corrosion cracking, as well as having a higher strength, making it superior to other common grades.
