Columbian-stabilized austenitic stainless steel plates and sheets, or alloy 347, have exceptional corrosion resistance. In highly oxidizing environments, it provides superior corrosion resistance over 321 alloys. At temperatures exceeding 1000 F, stainless steel 347H plate offers greater strength due to its higher carbon content. In the majority of cases, alloy 347H’s carbon composition permits dual certifications. Additionally, when exposed to high temperatures, it provides excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. Additionally, this delivers superior mechanical qualities and more and shorter creep. SS 347/347H plates and sheets are non-magnetic and heat resistant. When things get rough, these grades of stainless steel plates and sheets come in rather handy.
