The stainless steel 316L flanges can withstand temperatures as high as 870 °C. The diameters of stainless steel 316L flanges also vary. It is only slightly less significant than 304 among austenitic stainless steel grades. Grade 316L flanges provide better overall corrosion protection than grade 304 flanges due to the molybdenum. SS 316L flanges are frequently used in strong welds with wall thicknesses of up to 6 mm. 316L Stainless Steel Flanges have significantly stronger creep toughness, pressure to rupture strength, and compressive strength than other chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels, even at extreme temperatures. The austenitic composition of stainless steel 316L flanges also gives exceptional hardness properties, which can be observed at intermediate temperatures.
316L SS Flanges provide excellent corrosion protection when used irregularly up to 870 °C and continuously up to 925 °C. If downstream water corrosion resistance is required in any activity, extended usage of SS 316L Flanges between 425 °C and 860 °C is not recommended.
